BORDUMSA, July 7: In a significant initiative to preserve and protect the environment, the F/186 BN CRPF Camp Bordumsa organized a tree plantation programme along the Trans-Arunachal Highway, spanning from Mohong Mura to Magantong. The plantation drive, which commenced today, saw the enthusiastic participation of various dignitaries, officials, and local residents.

On the auspicious occasion of Van Mahotsav Day, Shri Janardan Upadhyay, Commandant of the 186 BN CRPF, inaugurated the plantation drive programme, symbolizing a commitment to fostering a greener and healthier ecosystem. The event witnessed the presence of several esteemed guests, including Shri Oling Lego, ADC Bordumsa, Shri Khachang Maio, ZPM Bordumsa, Ms. S. Seema Devi, Assistant Commandant of the 186 BN CRPF, Shri Tarkeshwar Kaji, Assistant Commandant of the 186 BN CRPF, Shri Bishwajit Konwar, OC Bordumsa PS, and SI Kimsing of Bordumsa PS.

Emphasizing the importance of environmental conservation, Shri Janardan Upadhyay expressed his gratitude towards all the participants and highlighted the positive impact this initiative would have on the local ecosystem. He remarked, “Our aim is to create a sustainable environment that benefits not only the present generation but also future generations to come. By planting these trees, we are taking a significant step towards a greener and healthier Arunachal Pradesh.”

The tree plantation programme, spanning both sides of the Trans-Arunachal Highway, aims to plant a total of 500 trees. Today’s efforts, which marked the initial phase of the programme, were successfully completed, and the remaining plantations will be carried out over the next few days.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from the local community as well. Representatives from the HGB’s, GPC, GPM of Bordumsa village, as well as the villagers themselves, joined hands with CRPF personnel from the Bordumsa camp, demonstrating their commitment to environmental conservation.

The plantation drive not only aims to enhance the beauty of the region but also seeks to create a sustainable ecosystem that mitigates the impact of deforestation. The trees planted will help combat climate change, prevent soil erosion, and provide a habitat for local wildlife.
