Officials takes pledge to uphold democratic tradition on ‘National Voters Day’

ITANAGAR, 25 Jan: Along with the rest of the nation, the National Voters’ Day, with the theme ‘Nothing like voting, I vote for sure’, was observed at the Governor Secretariat, Raj Bhavan, on Thursday. The officers and staff of the Governor’s Secretariat participated in the celebration.

The Secretary to Governor, Darade Sharad Bhaskar administered the ‘National Voters Day’ pledge to the officials, who pledged to uphold the democratic traditions of India and the dignity of free, fair, and peaceful elections. He highlighted the importance of each vote in a democratic society and said that voting serves as a tribute to the essence of democracy, outlining the vital role played by voters in shaping the nation’s destiny.

Meanwhile, at Gumin Kinn, Aalo, the ‘National Voters Day’ was also been celebrated with the same theme “Nothing like Voting, I vote for sure”. The programme was organized by Koj Yabyang EAC (Election). Tamo Riba ADC Kamba cum Dy.DEO graced the occasion as chief guest. He appealed to all the young voters to cast their valuable votes during the election. He further informed that the whole country is celebrating this auspicious day to commemorate the foundation of the Election Commission of India which was led in 25th January 1950. Later on, he gave away the EPIC card to newly enrolled young voters. T. Riba also gave away the winner’s prizes in Drawing and essay competitions among the students.

Jumdo Jini ADO cum Resource person shares the importance of voting to the newly enrolled young voters. Students from SFS College performed dances during the day. The celebration was attended by Admin Officers, HoDs, officials, and students from various schools.

The Chief Guest administered the National Voters Day pledge to the members present. Later on, the EVM was demonstrated to the young Voters for their basic knowledge.
