TANGHA Clan Welfare Society Throws Weight Behind BJP Candidate for Changlang South Assembly Seat

CHANGLANG, Mar 3: In a decisive move aimed at bringing about a much-needed change in leadership, the Executive Body of the TANGHA Clan Welfare Society (TTWS) convened urgently in Changlang on February 2nd, 2024. Under the adept leadership of its President, the society unanimously pledged its support to Sri Hamjong Tangha, the aspiring Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate for the 52-Changlang South Assembly Constituency in the forthcoming elections.

Citing a dire need for progress and development in the region, the Executive Body scrutinized ground reports and concluded that the incumbent MLA, with a staggering tenure of 25 years, had failed to deliver on crucial fronts such as human resource development, infrastructure, and road connectivity. With a steadfast resolve to usher in change, TTWS resolved to back Sri Hamjong Tangha as the sole Tangha Clan representative, emphasizing the candidate’s strong grassroots support and promising prospects.

The constituency, encompassing approximately 6000 voters from diverse Tangsa sub-tribes including Jugli, Muklom, Havi, and Tutsa, holds significant sway in the electoral landscape. Notably, the Muklom Tribe, with a sizable electorate of 3500, has historically held sway in the South Constituency, yet the TANGHA CLAN, constituting a substantial portion within the Muklom community, commands a crucial influence over electoral outcomes.

In a resounding declaration, TTWS underscored its unwavering commitment to Sri Hamjong Tangha’s candidacy, urging the BJP High Command in Arunachal Pradesh to confer the party ticket upon him. The plea resonated with the sentiments of the electorate, disillusioned by decades of stagnant governance and yearning for a transformative leadership.

As the countdown to the Assembly Election 2024 commences, all eyes remain fixed on the unfolding political dynamics in Changlang, with TTWS’s endorsement injecting fresh vigor into the electoral fray and amplifying calls for a paradigm shift in governance.
