Union Minister Kiren Rijiju Given Additional Charge of Food Processing Industries Ministry

NEW DELHI, Mar 20: Union Minister Kiren Rijiju has been assigned additional responsibility of the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, as per a notification from Rashtrapati Bhavan.

Following the immediate resignation of Pashupati Kumar Paras from the Union Council of Ministers, President Droupadi Murmu accepted the resignation and assigned Cabinet Minister Kiren Rijiju to oversee the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, in addition to his current portfolio of the Ministry of Earth Sciences.”

The press statement stated that, the President of India, as advised by the Prime Minister, has accepted the resignation of Shri Pashu Pati Kumar Paras from the Union Council of Ministers, with immediate effect, under clause (2) of Article 75 of the Constitution.

Further, as advised by the Prime Minister, the President has directed that Shri Kiren Rijiju, Cabinet Minister, be assigned the charge of the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, in addition to his existing portfolio.
