ITANAGAR, 25 July : In a commendable effort, the Itanagar Police have made significant headway in solving a major theft case, successfully recovering stolen items valued at Rs. 1,76,000, thereby reinforcing their commitment to effective law enforcement.
The breakthrough came after a written FIR was filed on 21 July 2024 by Shri Charu Kohima, a 38-year-old resident of ‘D’ Sector, Itanagar. According to the FIR, on 19 July 2024, at approximately 12 AM, unknown assailants broke into his garage, M/s Swift Motors, located in C Sector, and made off with several valuable items, including:
- 1 Vacuum cleaner valued at Rs. 7,000
- 3 Electric welding machines valued at Rs. 1,05,000
- 2 Iron cutter machines valued at Rs. 24,000
- 2 Drill machines valued at Rs. 20,000
- Scrap iron items valued at Rs. 2,000
The cumulative value of the stolen items totaled Rs. 1,76,000. Following the complaint, a case was registered as Itanagar PS Case No. 125/24 under sections 305(a) / 3(5) BNS.
An investigation was promptly initiated, led by Sub-Inspector Samuel Ngupok. Utilizing human intelligence and diligent investigative techniques, the team worked tirelessly to track down the culprits. Within just four days, they successfully apprehended the primary suspect, Mainul Haque, a 38-year-old resident of Rajghar, Hollongi, and recovered all of the stolen property, which was subsequently returned to its rightful owner.
The Itanagar Police have praised the efforts of SI Samuel Ngupok and his team for their rapid response and effective resolution of the case. This successful operation emphasizes the critical nature of timely crime reporting and underscores the effectiveness of thorough investigative work in ensuring community safety.
