NAMPONG, Nov 2: In a bid to foster stronger cross-border cultural ties, MLA Laisam Simai led an Indian delegation in a series of productive discussions with Myanmar officials at the Pangsau Border Hut today. The talks focused on the upcoming Pangsau Pass International Festival (PPIF) 2025, with both sides committed to ensuring a peaceful, culturally rich event.
Joining MLA Simai were key members of the Indian contingent, including SDO Nampong, Major Umesh Yadav of Assam Rifles, PPIF President Tangpa Lungphi, Secretary Angoo Mossang, and prominent public figure Simon Ronrang. Together, they emphasized the importance of a secure, harmonious festival atmosphere and highlighted the event’s potential to celebrate the shared cultural heritage of both nations.
The Myanmar delegation, represented by seven committee members including Town Chairman Yongwa Langching, Army Captain Mabithun, and Cultural Secretary Samkhu Hakhun, expressed their commitment to the festival’s success. They assured full cooperation and confirmed that a Myanmar cultural troupe would actively participate, adding vibrant performances to the event.
Following the constructive dialogue, MLA Simai extended warm hospitality to the Myanmar delegation, symbolizing the friendly and collaborative spirit between the two nations. Both sides are now poised to contribute to the vibrant Pangsau Pass International Festival 2025, marking it as a unique platform for cross-cultural exchange and unity.
