NAHARLAGUN, Dec 9: In a significant breakthrough, the Naharlagun Police apprehended an inter-state drug peddler, Md. Babul Islam (24), from Lakhimpur, Assam, during a well-coordinated raid on his rented house in Lower Model Village, Naharlagun.
Acting on credible intelligence, the police uncovered 3.5 kilograms of suspected cannabis, which was allegedly being supplied to the youth in the Itanagar Capital Region (ICR).
The operation was spearheaded by Inspector Krishnendu Dev, Officer-in-Charge of Naharlagun Police Station, along with SI Vivek Linggi, Ct. Kento Samyor, Ct. Sanu Raaj, and Lady Head Constable Sange Dirchi. The raid was conducted under the supervision of SP Naharlagun, Mihin Gambo, and SDPO Naharlagun, Rishi Longdo.
The contraband was seized in the presence of EAC Naharlagun, Khoda Bath, and secured following the guidelines prescribed under the NDPS Act. A case has been registered under NLG PS Case No. 149/24 U/S 20(b)(ii)(B) of the NDPS Act, and the accused is currently in police custody for further investigation.
SP Naharlagun Mihin Gambo reaffirmed the department’s commitment to eradicating drug trafficking in the region. “The safety and well-being of our youth remain our utmost priority,” he stated, urging the public to cooperate with law enforcement in reporting any suspicious activities,
