AALO, Jan 9: Chief Minister Pema Khandu, chaired a comprehensive review meeting at the Deputy Commissioner’s Conference Hall in Aalo to assess the progress of developmental projects in West Siang District. He was accompanied by Balo Raja, Minister of Urban Development & Housing and Land Management, along with senior officials and local representatives.
In his address, the Chief Minister highlighted the unique challenges faced by each district in Arunachal Pradesh due to diverse topography. He stressed the state government’s inclusive approach to governance and credited the developmental strides in Arunachal Pradesh to the support of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He emphasized the importance of timely completion of developmental projects and urged district officers to work with dedication for the overall progress of their respective departments and districts.
The Chief Minister announced a state-level review meeting on January 16-17 with Deputy Commissioners, Guardian Ministers, and Secretaries to strategize district-to-state-level planning. He also stated that future cabinet meetings would be held in different districts to ensure greater accessibility and accountability in governance.
Earlier, in a significant move to enhance public safety, CM Pema Khandu inaugurated the City Surveillance Project for Aalo Township. The project, which includes the installation of 10 CCTV cameras at strategic locations, was officially handed over to SSP/DIGP T. Amo for operation. The surveillance system is expected to facilitate better tracking and law enforcement in the town.
Deputy Commissioner of West Siang, Mamu Hage (IAS), welcomed the Chief Minister and presented a detailed PowerPoint overview of 11 major government projects currently underway in the district. She reported that while most projects are progressing smoothly, a few are facing minor delays. The DC assured that several projects are on track for completion by 2025. Additionally, she shared the administration’s initiatives for beautifying Aalo Township and other developmental efforts.
Minister Balo Raja, who is overseeing West Siang, Leparada, and Shi-Yomi districts as guardian Minister , called on district administrators, Heads of Departments (HoDs), and MLAs to work collaboratively for district development. He announced plans to convene meetings with Deputy Commissioners, Superintendents of Police, HoDs, and MLAs within his jurisdiction to address project, progress and challenges.
The review meeting was attended by MLA Topin Ete, MLA Pesi Jilen, and MLA Nyabi Jini Dirchi, along with Tumpe Ete, ZPC West Siang; Mamu Hage (IAS), DC West Siang; T. Amo, SSP/DIGP; Prince Kumar (IAS), Assistant Commissioner; ADCs; administrative officers; and various HoDs.(DIPRO)
