YACHULI, Jan 9: An awareness camp on animal reproductive health and fertility, combined with a Foot-and-Mouth Disease (FMD) vaccination program, was held at the Conference Hall in Yachuli. The event brought together experts, officials, and farmers to discuss vital aspects of animal husbandry and promote sustainable practices.
The camp was graced by Yachuli ADC Shri Suraj Gurung, who shared valuable advice with the farmers, encouraging them to adopt modern methods to improve livestock health and productivity. District Veterinary Officer (DVO) of Keyi-Panyor, Dr. Hano Tama, highlighted the various government-sponsored schemes available in the district, urging farmers to utilize them for their benefit.
Dr. Lige Basar, SVO Yachuli, served as a resource person and elaborated on the importance and benefits of Artificial Insemination (AI) in cattle, buffaloes, and other livestock. He emphasized how AI can improve livestock breeds and contribute to higher yields. Another expert, Dr. Joram Tatam, Subject Matter Specialist (SMS) from KVK Yachuli, discussed the commercial potential of piggery farming and ways to control diseases effectively.
The program witnessed enthusiastic participation from 65 progressive farmers from Yachuli, who gained valuable insights into modern livestock management practices. The ASRLM Keyi-Panyor District Unit also participated in the event, further enriching the training session.
The camp concluded with the FMD vaccination drive, ensuring better health and disease prevention for the livestock. The event was a significant step toward empowering farmers and promoting sustainable livestock practices in the region.
