NAMSAI, Jan 13: Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein chaired a high-level coordination meeting to oversee preparations for two significant upcoming events organized by the State Government: the Golden Pagoda Marathon Race 2025 and the 2nd Edition of Bharat Lok Sangeet Arunachal Utsav 2025.
The Golden Pagoda Marathon Race 2025, slated for February 9, aims to unite athletes and sports enthusiasts from across the globe. Set amidst the picturesque landscapes of Namsai, this marathon seeks to promote fitness, wellness, and the spirit of unity while positioning Arunachal Pradesh as a premier global destination for sports tourism.
Meanwhile, the Bharat Lok Sangeet Arunachal Utsav 2025, scheduled for February 9-11, will celebrate the state’s rich cultural heritage through folk songs, dances, music, and indigenous traditions. The event is designed to foster cultural appreciation, boost tourism, and encourage cross-cultural exchanges.
“These events are not just celebrations but an opportunity to showcase Arunachal Pradesh’s unique identity on the global stage,” said Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein. He emphasized the need for meticulous planning, efficient use of resources, and collective effort to ensure the success of these initiatives.
The Deputy Chief Minister highlighted the potential of these events to uplift the local economy, promote cultural heritage, and enhance tourism. He called for maintaining high standards of management, judicious fund utilization, and providing exceptional hospitality for participants and attendees, ensuring a seamless and welcoming experience.
In line with the “Vocal for Local” initiative, he urged for the active involvement of local youth in organizing the events, particularly in documentation and logistics. This, he noted, would reflect the talent and potential of Arunachal Pradesh’s communities while showcasing its indigenous traditions, folklore, and music.
