NAHARLAGUN, April 4:In a major crackdown under Operation Dawn 2.0, the Naharlagun Police carried out a swift and successful raid at Nyigam Colony, leading to the arrest of two drug peddlers and seizure of a substantial quantity of narcotics and illegal items.
Acting on a credible tip-off, a team from Naharlagun Police Station—comprising Inspector Krishnendu Dev (OC, PS Naharlagun), SI Vivek Linggi, HC Kanto Samyor, KC K Mosi, HC P Tari, Ct D Borah, and Ct Token Pertin—conducted the operation under the supervision of SDPO Naharlagun Rishi Longdo. The raid was executed in the presence of Khoda Bath, EAC-cum-Executive Magistrate of Naharlagun.
During the raid, the police apprehended two individuals—Hage Opo (24) and Mom Riche Dorjee (19)—suspected to be actively involved in the illicit drug trade. The team seized 10 vials of suspected heroin weighing approximately 12.4 grams (including plastic vials), 51 tablets of Nitcor-10 (Nitrazepam 10mg), a used syringe, and three pistol-shaped lighters with concealed knives.

A case has been registered at Naharlagun Police Station under Case No. 45/25, invoking Sections 21(b), 27, and 29 of the NDPS Act, read with Section 28 of the Arms Act.
Superintendent of Police, Naharlagun, Shri Mihin Gambo, IPS, reaffirmed the department’s unwavering commitment to eradicating drug-related crimes. He urged the public to come forward with any reliable information regarding drug trafficking in the Itanagar Capital Region and assured continued strong action against those involved in such activities.
“The fight against drugs is a collective responsibility. We are determined to protect our youth and society from this grave menace,” SP Gambo stated.
