After months of meticulous investigation and coordination with law enforcement agencies across state lines, three accused persons have been apprehended, bringing a sense of justice and closure to the case.

The incident occurred on the night of November 22, 2024, when one  Khyoda Taju, employed as a night guard at the ACE Pipeline Project, was attacked by three unidentified individuals while on duty. The assailants, motivated by intent to loot, demanded keys to the store he was guarding. When he resisted, they brutally assaulted him and fled the scene with his ATM card, cash, and a Scooty. Following the registration of Chimpu PS Case No. 82/2024 under Sections 329(3), 309(6), and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, the police began an intensive investigation. In response, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) was formed under the leadership of Inspector N. Nishant, Officer-in-Charge of Chimpu Police Station. The team, working under the supervision of SDPO Itanagar  Kengo Dirchi, employed a combination of technical surveillance, ground-level intelligence, and close coordination with Assam Police to track the suspects across districts.

Two days later, on April 29, the second accused, Rakesh Mili, was arrested from Harmuti Railway Station as he attempted to escape by train. All three accused are residents of Gohpur, Assam, and during preliminary interrogation, they confessed to their involvement in the crime.

Commending the team, Superintendent of Police, Capital Complex,  Rohit Rajbir Singh praised the officers for their diligence and coordination, stating that the case’s resolution was a testament to the professionalism and commitment of the Arunachal Pradesh Police.
