Lower Siang DC Rujjum Rakshap Chairs DHS Review Meet; Stresses Quality Healthcare Delivery and Accountability

LIKABALI, Augt 1: The Deputy Commissioner of Lower Siang, Shri Rujjum Rakshap, who is also the Chairman of the District Health Society (DHS), chaired the second quarterly meeting of the DHS at the DC’s Conference Hall in Likabali today. The meeting focused on reviewing the performance and progress of the District Task Force on Immunisation (DTFI) and Special Disease Control (SDC) activities from the first quarter to date.

Expressing satisfaction over the district’s accelerating improvement in health service delivery, the DC commended the latest data presented, noting that health statistics must accurately reflect the real status of the population. He emphasized that the dedication and services of health workers should never be compromised or taken for granted.

Calling for a more inclusive approach, DC Rakshap expressed the desire to involve the district’s administrative machinery to ensure comprehensive healthcare outreach in every nook and corner of Lower Siang, aiming to meet government targets effectively.

Delivering the keynote address, District Medical Officer Dr. Nyage Geyi opened the floor for productive discussion. He underscored the need for maintaining Measles-Rubella (MR) vaccination coverage within permissible limits and flagged the importance of monitoring food safety measures and checking unauthorized laboratories. Dr. Geyi also instructed PHC, CHC, and SC medical officers to keep ambulances in optimal working condition to serve the people effectively.

District RCH Officer Dr. Tai Riso highlighted the latest trends in national health campaigns and applauded the unwavering commitment of healthcare workers and state machinery working tirelessly to meet targets within defined timelines.

The meeting witnessed active participation from all nodal officers and medical officers in charge of health centres across the district, who shared critical inputs to strengthen the implementation of government-launched health programmes.
