KANUBARI, 18 Aug: In a landmark decision aimed at promoting higher education and encouraging enrolment, Hon’ble Minister for Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary, Dairy Development, Fisheries, Food & Civil Supplies, Legal Metrology and Consumer Affairs, Shri Gabriel D. Wangsu, has announced free one-time admission for all students for the academic session 2025–26 at the Government Model Degree College, Kanubari.
The initiative, officially notified by the college on 16 August 2025, is expected to ease the financial burden on families and boost student enrolment. The notice states that the Minister “gracefully announced” the scheme as part of his commitment to strengthening access to education in the region.
Students who had already paid admission fees will not lose out. The college clarified that refunds will be issued by 1 September 2025 upon submission of the official money receipt issued earlier.
Principal Dr. Hage Naku confirmed the development through an official circular, expressing gratitude to the Minister for his concern towards students’ welfare.
