ITANAGAR, Oct 8: The Arunachal Publishers and Broadcasters Guild (APBG) and the Arunachal Electronic and Digital Media Association (AEDMA) have jointly expressed their profound appreciation and heartfelt gratitude to the State Government led by Chief Minister Pema Khandu, Minister for IPR Shri Nyato Dukam, Secretary IPR, and the entire team of the IPR Department for the formulation and adoption of the landmark “Arunachal Pradesh Print & Digital Media Advertisement Policy, 2025.”
The media bodies also lauded the government for its visionary decision to enhance advertisement rates for print media, as well as a new Policy for digital media, a move that directly responds to the memorandum earlier submitted by APBG and AEDMA on various occasions, and reflects the government’s commitment to supporting and sustaining the state’s media industry.
The newly approved policy introduces a unified, transparent, and efficient framework for government advertisements, replacing the earlier 2018 and 2020 policies. Under the new system, all government ads will be routed through the Directorate of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) to ensure consistency, transparency, and accountability.

Welcoming the decision, both APBG and AEDMA highlighted that the policy will empower local media houses by prioritizing state-based organizations, ensuring fiscal prudence through fixed advertisement rates, and streamlining fund utilization. They further stated that the government’s responsiveness to the concerns and suggestions of the media fraternity marks a significant milestone in government–media collaboration in Arunachal Pradesh.
In a separate press statement, the Arunachal Press Club (APC) and Arunachal Pradesh Union of Working Journalists (APUWJ) have lauded the state government for approving the Arunachal Pradesh Print & Digital Media Advertisement Policy, 2025, calling it a progressive reform that strengthens transparency, accountability, and sustainability in government advertisement distribution.
Approved during the recent ‘Cabinet Aapke Dwar’ meeting at Miao, the new policy replaces the 2018 and 2020 frameworks and for the first time brings both print and digital media under a single, unified structure.
It establishes a centralized system through the Directorate of Information & Public Relations (DIPR), ensuring transparent routing of all government advertisements and standardized rates for fair and efficient fund utilization.
In a joint statement, the APC and APUWJ described the policy as “a significant milestone in the evolution of the state’s media ecosystem,” adding that it reflects the government’s commitment to empowering local media houses and journalists who play a vital role in public awareness and democratic accountability.
“This unified policy provides a level playing field to both traditional and emerging digital media platforms in Arunachal Pradesh. It acknowledges the contribution of state-based media in nation-building and ensures that public communication remains both professional and people-centric,” the statement said.
Expressing gratitude to Chief Minister Pema Khandu for his continued support towards the press fraternity, the media bodies also thanked Information & Public Relations minister Nyato Dukam, former minister Bamang Felix, IPR secretary Nyali Ete, director Gijum Tali and deputy director Denga Bengia for their key roles in drafting and finalizing the policy through extensive consultations.
