BOMDILA, Mar 8: On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Government College Bomdila received a donation of free sanitary pads and sanitary pad dispensers. The Assistant General Secretary of Government College Bomdila, Rinchin Rongradu, oversaw the distribution of five boxes of sanitary pads and two Godrej sanitary pad dispensers.
He informed the two Godrej sanitary pad dispensers were donated by David Jebisow President of All Aka Hrusso Students’ Union, Sanu Zongluju President of All Sajolang Students’ Union, Somi Parisow CEO of Nilvo Charity Foundation and Convenor of All Aka Hrusso Students’ Union, and Yimi Angu Executive Engineer of Hydro Power Department.
Meanwhile, five boxes of sanitary pads were donated by Shri Amit Jebisow former Deputy Speaker of All West Kameng District Students’ Union, and Rinchin Tsering AKA Awo Ree Youth leader from Dirang.
The donated sanitary pad dispensers will be installed in the Girls’ Common Room and the Girls Hostel, and Mr. Rinchin Rongradu will supervise the monthly refill of sanitary pads in both dispensers.
Rinchin Rongradu expressed his gratitude for their generosity saying this generous donation is an important step towards addressing the issue of menstrual hygiene, which is often overlooked and stigmatized. The donation will benefit the female students of Government College Bomdila and ensure that they have access to menstrual hygiene products. The initiative is a commendable effort towards promoting gender equality and empowering women.
