AALO, March 8: Joining with the rest of the world the International Women Day was celebrated here at Gumin Kinn Aalo. Deputy Commissioner Penga Tato and Smti Higam Loyi graced the occasion as Chief Guest & Guest of Honour respectively. The programme was organized by APWWS district Unit Aalo under the supervision of Mrs Marbom Riba Bagra( President APWWS) and Mrs Roje Ado Ete General Secretary APWWS District Unit Aalo in collaboration with Women & Child Development department and Arunachal state rural livelihood mission(ArSRLM).
Mrs Roge Ado Ete welcome all the dignitaries and various SHGs and highlighted the role of women
in the society.
Deputy Commissioner Penga Tato as a Chief Guest appeals the women of the district to work for
the development of the society. He state that role of mother/women in a family and society is
multidimensional . He urges the women of the West Siang to help the District administration to check
the drugs menaces of the district as some youths are involving in drugs activity which result in anti
social activities. He request them to be the role model of family and society.
On Skill development he inform the women to avail the facilities provided by the govt in different development and urges them to be self reliant by skill development joining hand with formation of more and more self help groups(SHGs). He request them to be the role model of family and society DC also appeals the public’s of the West Siang not to create hindrance for development and cooperate with the implementing agencies and district administration for creation of more govt assets and infrastructures.
President APWWS Smti Marbom Riba Bagra elaborately explained this years International Women Day
theme ” Embrace Equity” she appeals the women to form more SHG for skill development. Govt is actively involved for the women upliftment and urged them to avail the facilities. APPWS Aalo is planning to organize women awareness camp at Various villages and sectors of West Siang.
Sri Mimar Basar Block Coordinator ArSRLM as a resource person highlighted various govt projects
related to the women participation for nation building and he request the women of district to become
self sufficient.
Sri Bahi Koyu CDPO i/c Dy. Director ICDS highlighted the govt facilities/schemes of his
department and explained the importance of POCSO Act.
Smt Higam Loyi Angu ZPM as a Guest of Honour requested the women of the district to step out
from the home and involved in economic activities for sustainable development. She appeals the women not to misuse the power conferred by the govt. Good health and education of the women is most important for family and society’s development, she said.
During the day felicitations were given to women and girls champion who achieved excellent in
various fields ZPMs, HoD’s, Women Officers, SHGs and Public’s were attended the program. The Day was also organized by selling of different local products by various women SHG under “vocal for local”.
