ITANAGAR, Mar 30: The Arunachal Cycling Association (ACA) and Pisa Welfare Society (PWS) on Thursday warmly received Pisa Yagu who won four silver and two bronze medals in the recently concluded Khelo India Women’s Track Cycling event (League South Zone) held at Bangalor and Karnataka.
Hailing from village Sate under Sarli circle in Kurung Kumey district, Yagu won silver medals in sub junior category 4 km scratch race, individual pursuit, Keirin race and sprint race including bronze medals in junior girl’s individual pursuit and sub-junior sprints race.
While congratulating Yagu for her great achievement, ACA vice president Boli Yorme appealed to the department of sports and state government to provide necessary aid to the sportsperson as per the norms.
“Yagu has created a history by winning 6 medals at national level in cycling,” said Yorme, adding that ACA will be giving all possible training to her, so that she can excel in upcoming 2028 and 2032 Olympics too.
Exhorting young players of the state to draw inspiration from Yag, who won medals at national level without any coaching/training, he further advised her to focus on the training which would be provided by ACA.
From Arunachal who made her achievement in its maiden appearance in the National Games as cyclist, Yagu dedicated her achievement towards the relatives & family members and ACA for their constant support.
