ITANAGAR, July 6:  The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Arunachal Pradesh celebrated the 122nd birth anniversary of Dr. Syama Prasad Mukherjee at the State BJP headquarters in Itanagar today.

During the event,  Techi Necha, Spokesperson, spoke about the life and achievements of Dr. Syama Prasad Mukherjee. Necha described him as a prominent philosopher, an exceptional organizer, and a leader known for his unwavering personal integrity. Dr. Syama Prasad Mukherjee was the first opposition leader in Indian democracy and was strongly opposed to Article 370, perceiving it as a threat to national unity. Necha highlighted that Dr. Mukherjee’s famous statement, emphasizing his firm stance against dual provisions. The Bharatiya Jana Sangh, along with the Hindu Mahasabha and Jammu Praja Parishad, launched a Satyagraha movement to repeal these provisions.

 Junty Singpho, State Vice-President, emphasized the sacrifice made by Dr. Syama Prasad Mukherjee in uniting India. She underscored the significance of this day for the BJP, urging participants to uphold his mission, vision, and ideology, which have guided the party since its inception.

Dignitaries present at the program included  Honchun Nangdam, Minister of Rural Works Department (RWD);  Tame Phassang, Mayor of Itanagar Municipal Corporation (IMC);  Taniya Soki, MLA;  Dominic Tadar, Chairman of Arunachal Pradesh Khadi & Village Industries Board;  Nalong Mize, State General Secretary;  Nani Lajie and  Tarh Tarak, State Vice-Presidents;  Tagin Siga and Ms. Junty Singpho, along with  Hanium Tachu, State President of ST Morcha, and  Ram Tajo, President of Yuva Morcha. Also in attendance were Vice-Chairpersons, Corporators, State Office Bearers (SOBs), Morcha members, and party workers.
