ITANAGAR, DEC 17: The Press fraternity of Arunachal Pradesh, led by Arunachal Pradesh Union of Working Journalists President Amar Sangno and Arunachal Press Club President Dodum Yangfo, met with the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, Lt. General KT Parnaik, PVSM, UYSM, YSM (Retd.), at Raj Bhavan, Itanagar.
During the meeting, the Governor emphasized the pivotal role of the media in fostering progress and development in the State. He praised the media fraternity for being a reliable partner in the growth of Arunachal Pradesh and urged them to remain progressive and positive in their professional responsibilities.
Highlighting the influential role of the media in shaping public opinion, the Governor encouraged journalists to focus on creating a positive environment by showcasing success stories, particularly from rural areas. He advised them to highlight women’s entrepreneurship and address critical social issues such as drug addiction and health challenges, including tuberculosis.
“Media is a powerful tool that not only informs but also inspires. It must bring out the positive aspects of hurdles and help mold public opinion toward advancement,” the Governor said. He urged journalists to be key contributors to improving the State’s social ecosystem by sharing innovative solutions in their reporting.
Earlier, Dodum Yangfo briefed the Governor on the status of the media fraternity in the State, shedding light on the challenges faced by journalists. These included the need for pension schemes and exposure tours to neighboring countries to expand their professional knowledge and experience.
