NEW DELHI, Jan 10:The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued a final ultimatum to its affiliated schools, urging them to adhere to mandatory website disclosure requirements as outlined in Circular Nos. CBSE/AFF/03/2021 (dated 05.03.2021) and CBSE/AFF/09/2021 (dated 21.05.2021). Schools have been given a strict 30-day deadline to meet these requirements or face penalties under the CBSE Affiliation Bye-Laws, 2018.
In its Circular No. 03/2021, the CBSE directed schools to develop their own websites and upload key information, including details of teachers and prescribed documents, as part of the Mandatory Public Disclosure format specified in Appendix-IX. A follow-up reminder was issued through Circular No. 09/2021, granting schools a one-month period to comply.

‘Despite of the repeated directions by the Board, it has been observed that many affiliated schools still do not have a functional website. Besides, some schools though have a school website but have either not uploaded or partially uploaded the desired information and documents, under Mandatory Public Disclosure’ stated the circular.
In some cases, it is observed that schools have though uploaded the desired information/documents but the links to these documents are inactive. Few schools have although uploaded the prescribed information/documents, but the icon/link of the same is not prominently displayed on its Main Home page.
In light of continued lapses , the CBSE has given schools one last opportunity to ensure compliance. Schools must upload all required information and documents accurately and visibly on their websites within 30 days of the circular’s issuance. Non-compliance will result in penalties and proceedings under Chapters 12 and 13 of the CBSE Affiliation Bye-Laws, with no further reminders from the Board.
Those schools who have apparently complied with the given directions are also instructed to re-visit their website and verify the uploaded information & documents vis-a-vis the directions given herein in the light of the cited circulars. In case of any disparity, the same may be updated immediately.
