NERIST Research Scholars Association (NRSA) Hosts Annual Mentorship Program

NAHARLAGUN, Jan 31:  The NERIST Research Scholars Association (NRSA) recently organized its annual mentorship and guidance program at Wisdom Academy, Naharlagun. This initiative, a cornerstone of NRSA’s commitment to giving back to society, aimed to inspire and mentor students in their academic and career journeys. The event, held under the leadership of NRSA President Mr. John Yigam and General Secretary Mr. Tapi Tada.

The program kicked off with a thought-provoking presentation on Addiction Awareness by Miss Lochumi Shitiri, a Ph.D. Scholar from the Forestry Department. Her session highlighted the dangers of substance abuse and its impact on academic and personal growth, urging students to stay focused and make healthy life choices.

Following this, Miss Marphy Kamki, a Ph.D. Scholar from the Electronics Department, conducted an interactive session on Time Management. She shared practical strategies to help students prioritize tasks, manage their schedules effectively, and achieve a balance between academics and personal life.

Miss Tokani Guhato, a Ph.D. Scholar from the Humanities and Social Sciences Department, delivered an engaging talk on Career Path Exploration. Her session focused on helping students identify their strengths, explore diverse career options, and make informed decisions about their future. She emphasized the importance of self-awareness and continuous learning in achieving long-term career goals.

In addition to the informative sessions, the event featured a variety of interactive activities to keep the students engaged. Jumnya Basar coordinated fun and educational games, fostering teamwork and creativity among participants. Subharata Basu conducted a lively quiz competition, which not only tested the students’ knowledge but also encouraged healthy competition and learning.

Speaking about the initiative, NRSA President Mr. John Yigam said, “Our annual mentorship program is a reflection of NRSA’s vision to contribute positively to society. We believe that by guiding and inspiring young minds, we can help shape a brighter future for our community.”

General Secretary Mr. Tapi Tada added, “The enthusiasm and participation of the students were truly inspiring. We are committed to continuing such initiatives and expanding our reach to benefit more students in the future.”

NRSA remains steadfast in its mission to empower students through mentorship and career guidance. The association hopes that by sharing this report, it will raise awareness about the importance of such programs and encourage greater participation in similar initiatives.
