ITANAGAR/DELHI,May 30: In a significant political development for Arunachal Pradesh, the Nationalist Congress Party (Ajit Pawar faction) has officially appointed Shri Toko Tatung, MLA of 16-Yachuli Assembly Constituency, as the new State President of NCP Arunachal Pradesh.
Tatung succeeds outgoing President and former MLA Likha Saaya, under whose leadership the NCP secured three seats in the 2024 Arunachal Pradesh Assembly Elections—Lekang, Yachuli, and Borumsa constituencies. This leadership transition comes ahead of the upcoming Panchayat Elections in Arunachal Pradesh and is being viewed as a strategic move by the party. It signals a renewed effort to strengthen grassroots leadership and deepen regional engagement.
Shri Toko Tatung’s appointment marks a new chapter for the NCP in the state. Known for his dynamic leadership and close rapport with the public, Tatung is expected to bring fresh energy and vision to the party’s state unit. Party insiders believe his elevation will enhance organizational structure and expand outreach, especially at the grassroots level.

The change in presidency also reflects the NCP’s broader commitment to empowering local leadership and responding to evolving political dynamics in the Northeast.
