ANINI,May 29: Empowering our farmers through awareness, access to schemes and technology is the key to building a self-reliant agriculture economy, said Minister, Women and Child Development Dasanglu Pul while launching the Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan (VKSA) at Gipulin village in Dibang Valley district on Thursday.
The minister was joined at the event by Anini MLA and advisor to tourism minister Mopi Mihu, ZPC Theko Tayu, deputy commissioner Pagli Sora, senior scientists from Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Anini, and other senior officials and heads of departments.
As part of the programme, soil health cards and hybrid seeds were distributed to local farmers to promote scientific farming and improve crop productivity. Two Krishi Raths were also flagged off by the minister to travel across the district, raising awareness among farmers about new agricultural techniques and central welfare schemes.

“This campaign is about reaching the last-mile farmer and ensuring that the benefits of schemes like PM Fasal Bima Yojana, Kisan Credit Cards, and soil health initiatives are delivered directly to their doorsteps,” Pul said.
The VKSA, initiated by the Union Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, is a nationwide campaign aligned with the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047. It aims to double farmers’ income by promoting the use of technology, increasing awareness of government support systems, and ensuring doorstep delivery of services such as crop insurance under PMFBY, KCC access, input subsidies, and agri-advisory.
MLA Mihu, in his address, termed the campaign a timely intervention.

“VKSA is not just a government programme; it is a people’s movement towards smart and sustainable agriculture suited to our local needs,” he said.
The event drew participation from local farmers, SHG members, and youth, signalling strong community support for the initiative.
Officials said the campaign will now expand to other villages in the district to further strengthen agricultural resilience and productivity in the region.
