ROING, July 11: A shocking incident unfolded at the Roing on Friday, where a man accused of sexually assaulting several minor girls was lynched by an enraged mob. The accused had been in police custody since Thursday.
Tensions in the town escalated rapidly as more alleged victims—young girls aged between 5 and 7—came forward with similar accusations. According to eyewitnesses, a large crowd stormed the police station, forcibly dragged the accused outside, and brutally assaulted him. By the time additional police and para military forces arrived, the accused had succumbed to his injuries.
Preliminary investigations indicate that at least seven minor girls may have been targeted. The accused who is migrant Labour (Non-APST) , enters hostels of privately run school in Roing and sexually assaulted the children . Police have confirmed the incident but are withholding further details as the investigation is ongoing.
Authorities also revealed that there could be atleast three accused in this case, with two suspects still on the run. The incident has sent shockwaves through the community, raising urgent questions about child safety especially in privately run school and institutions.
