ITANAGAR, Sept 18: In a remarkable display of courage and perseverance, January Tali, a young mountaineer from Yingkiong in Arunachal Pradesh’s Upper Siang District, has carved her name in the history of Himalayan exploration by successfully scaling six challenging summits in Ladakh within just two weeks.

Tali has achieved the rare distinction of being the first Arunachali to accomplish a Double Summit of Mount UT Kangri (6,080 meters). Not stopping there, she went on to become the first woman from Arunachal Pradesh to conquer Mount Mentok Kangri I (6,268 meters), Mount Mentok Kangri II (6,218 meters), and further scripted history with a Double Summit of Mount Mentok Kangri III (6,126 meters).
Her exceptional accomplishments stand as a source of immense pride not only for her Adi community but also for the entire state of Arunachal Pradesh. More importantly, her feat serves as an inspiration to countless young women who aspire to test their limits in adventure and sports. Through her climbs, Tali has proven that with focus, grit, and relentless effort, even the most formidable peaks can be overcome.

Her expedition was supported by the Cho Expeditions team, including Phuntsog, Tashi, and Nima, whose guidance and teamwork played a vital role in ensuring her success.
