New Delhi, 13 Mar: On 12th of March, 2023 the Arunachal Pradesh Literary Society extending its area of activities outside the state has formed a branch in Delhi(NCR) comprising of students, professionals having keen interest in literature residing in Delhi and National Capital Region. Padmashri awardee and Sahitya Akademi awardee Yeshe Dorjee Thongchi, president of Arunachal Pradesh Literary Society in a meeting held at the auditorium of Aruncahal House New Delhi announced the formation of the APLS Delhi(NCR) branch committee.
Renowned actor, director and script writer Riken Ngomle was selected as the president and young writer Jummi Yomcha was elected as General Secretary.
The APLS team was accompanied by senior members and prominent writers Kaling Borang, Henkar Rokam Bado and Dr. Jamuna Bini and general secretary Mukul Pathak.
Thongchi also constituted the executive committee of the APLS Delhi (NCR). On the occasion of formation of the Delhi(NCR) chapter of APLS a literary session was also conducted. Nikita T, Yumpee Tato, Sushmi Dada, Pimbhi Mepo, Atal Pamo, Ringu Elapara, Jpjum Kena, Tenzin Droima presented their literary creations. Kaling Borang and Henkar Rokam Bado recited their poem and Dr. Jamuna Bini read a short story. Prominent writers Anita Bharti, Dr. Ramesh Prajapati, Arun Kumar and Dr. Santosh Patel also attended the literary session and encouraged the young writers of Arunachal Pradesh who presented their poems and literary creations.
Speaking on the occasion Mr. Thongchi said that formation of a branch of APLS in the national capital Delhi will be a strong bridge between the writers and literary institutions of national repute with the Arunachalee writers. He said that 17 years back APLS was formed with just 10 literature lovers and now has eight district branches and providing a platform to the writers of the state.
