ITANAGAR, June 25: A delegation from the Arunachal Electronic and Digital Media Association (AEDMA), led by Vice President Jack Tayeng and General Secretary Sangge Droma, met with the newly inducted Minister for Information & Public Relations, Commerce & Industries, Labour & Employment, Shri Nyato Dukam, to extend their congratulations.
During the meeting, Vice President-AEDMA Jack Tayeng underscored the crucial role digital media plays in disseminating information and raising awareness within society. He highlighted AEDMA’s potential collaboration with the Department of Information and Public Relations (IPR) to ensure that government schemes and policies reach the unreached. Tayeng pointed out that a significant number of people miss out on government benefits due to a lack of proper information. He emphasized AEDMA’s role as a bridge between society and the government, facilitating public welfare in the digital age.
General Secretary-AEDMA Sangge Droma briefed the Minister on the challenges faced by digital media houses, particularly the lack of systematic revenue generation. She informed that while AEDMA not only runs media houses but also provides jobs for many youths,however the absence of proper revenue sometimes hampers their ability to offer necessary services.


While submitting a representation Droma, urged the Minister to ensure the implementation of advertisement policies, proper empanelment of media houses as per established norms, and other necessary measures to support the industry.
Minister Nyato Dukam listened attentively to their concerns and assured the delegation of his full support for the growth of media houses. He informed them that a Board would soon be created for the proper empanelment of media houses, in consultation with related officials and AEDMA members. Additionally, he requested media organizations to act as watchdogs of society and to disseminate genuine and unbiased information.
The delegation included AEDMA Convenor Yasum Sonam, Auditor Shambo Flago, members Nipjyoti Kalita, Sandeep Kumar, Bittu Borah, and Office Secretary Agam Dui.
The meeting marks a significant step towards addressing the challenges faced by digital media houses in Arunachal Pradesh and highlights the commitment of both AEDMA and the government to improving the dissemination of information and public awareness.
