Two IPS Officers From Arunachal Pradesh Promoted To DIGP Rank

NEW DELHI /ITANAGAR, Jan 2: The Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, has promoted two IPS officers from Arunachal Pradesh, Tumme Amo and Apang Tamut, to the rank of Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP). This significant achievement highlights their exemplary service and dedication to the police force.

In addition to Amo and Tamut, 14 other IPS officers (total 16) of the AGMUT (Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram and Union Territories) cadre were also elevated to the DIGP rank.

The official promotion orderstated ‘In pursuance of the recommendations of the Screening Committee in its meeting held on 19.12.2024, the 16 IPS officers of the AGMUT cadre, currently posted in the cadre, are hereby promoted to the DIGP Grade (Level-13A in the Pay Matrix) with effect from 01.01.2025 or from the date of assumption of charge.”

Order also added that, the  Ministry has granted Proforma Promotion to the IPS officers of the AGMUT cadre who are currently on Central Deputation. These officers will be promoted to the DIGP Grade (Level-13A in the Pay Matrix) effective from January 1, 2025, and on an actual basis from the date their immediate juniors assume charge in the cadre.
