Pakke Kessang Police successfully cracked a murder case, arrested three accused

PAKKE KESSANG, April 30: In a swift and coordinated operation, the Pakke Kessang Police successfully cracked a murder case and arrested all three accused within 24 hours of registering the FIR.

The case was registered following a complaint received on April 29,last, at  from one  Takar Tana, who alleged that his son-in-law, Late Nabam Rungku (60), a resident of Village Keko, was shot dead on April 19 in the Dissing Forest area.

Acting promptly on the complaint, Superintendent of Police Pakke Kessang directed SI Patto Gami, Officer-in-Charge, Pakke Kessang Police Station, to register a case. Accordingly a case was registered under Pakke Kessang PS Case No. 04/2025 U/S 103(1) of BNS.

A special investigation team comprising Inspector Thony Tayeng, SI Patto Gami, SI Taluk Taku, and HC Vikash Gyadi, under the supervision of the SP, was immediately constituted.

By 0400 hrs on April 30, the police team successfully detained all three accused. identified as  Pade Nabam (38),  Tamar Tana (26),  and  Takar Techi (32).

As the body of the deceased had been buried before the FIR was filed, an exhumation order was obtained from the Deputy Commissioner of Pakke Kessang. The inquest was conducted by Executive Magistrate-cum-CO  Durin Dai, and the post-mortem examination (PME) was carried out at the designated District Hospital by the concerned Medical Officer.

A wireless message was sent to the Principal of PTC requesting forensic assistance. Forensic experts arrived promptly and conducted an on-site examination of the deceased.

Following proper legal procedures, all three accused were formally arrested at 1730 hrs. During interrogation, they confessed to their involvement in the crime.

The police also seized two SBBL firearms suspected to have been used in the shooting. A fired bullet pellet was recovered from the body of the deceased and has been secured as evidence.The SP Pakke Kessang commended the joint coordination between the police, district administration, DMO, and PTC forensic team, which enabled a smooth and timely investigation.
