ROING, Dec 8: The Black Panther, fatally injured by a vehicle while crossing the highway on December 6, in between Roing-Tezu Trans-Arunachal Highway was swiftly rescued with the help and prompt action of forest officials and wildlife conservation teams.
The rescue operation was carried out by the Lower Dibang Valley Forest and Wildlife team in collaboration with the staff of Roing Mini-Zoo. The injured panther was immediately transported for medical care and remains under close observation.
Commending the efforts, Forest Minister Wangki Lowang said, “The swift rescue of an injured black panther near the Roing-Tezu Trans-Arunachal Highway highlights the unwavering dedication of our forest officials and wildlife conservation teams. I appreciate the efforts of the Lower Dibang Valley team and the Roing Mini-Zoo staff for their prompt action in ensuring this majestic creature receives the care it desperately needs.”
The Minister also emphasized the need for stronger conservation efforts, stating, “This incident serves as a reminder of Arunachal’s unique and fragile wildlife heritage. Together, let us strengthen our commitment to protecting these treasures and work towards preventing such incidents in the future.”
